Claudia Sofia

Cláudia Sofia is a young singer and guitarist from Mindelo on the Cape Verde Islands - the musically rich home of the legendary Cesária Évora and the origin of numerous internationally acclaimed artists.

In the fall of 2024, Cláudia wowed audiences on an extensive tour with over 20 concerts in Portugal, Germany and Austria. With her crystal-clear voice, expressive original songs and an excellent band - consisting of Lucio Vieira (bass) and Markus Leukel (drums) - she captivated the audience.

2025 sees the release of her first album, which contains exclusively her own compositions.

Cláudia's music is deeply rooted in the traditional sounds of her Cape Verdean homeland, but is also open to influences from Brazilian, European and North American music - including classical music.

In her songs, she tells of life and love on the island archipelago off the West African coast, where a distinctive Creole culture has developed over five centuries.
