Cold Years

In December, the Scottish band Cold Years will be stopping in Hamburg: At Betty, the quartet led by singer and guitarist Ross Gordon will present their new single “Dread”—an aggressive yet emotional song that captures the uncertainty of our times while also exploring the sense of stability found in friendship, family, and close relationships.

Following the release of their 2024 album “A Different Life” and five years of intensive touring and studio work, Cold Years took an 18-month break to reflect. The result: Instead of being crushed by the pressures of a decade in the music business, the band is releasing their new music entirely on their own terms for the first time since the EP “Northern Blue” (2018)—independently, self-determined, and with a palpable, newly rekindled passion.
