While youth is often glorified in dance, the Berlin Dance On Ensemble celebrates ageing. The excellent dancers in this company are all over 40 years old and embody precisely those mature, powerful personalities that we love so much in dance. They incorporate their physical knowledge and experience into their creations and are impressively expressive and graceful. Throughout their lives, they have opened themselves up to the impulses of new choreographers and developed their art further. For the performance MELLOWING , they explore moments of perception and the intensity of the moment in collaboration with Greek choreographer Christos Papadopoulos. Like a swarm, the dancers move synchronously across the stage until minimal, original variations create a maelstrom of ever-increasing power. The tense minimalism is transformed into pure energy - "mellowing" not only describes the gentle easing, but also the maturing of a body's best qualities.
