Hofesh Shechter sends his wild, unmistakable dancers into the realm of dreams: curtains open and close, revealing surreal scenes in which fears and desires collide. A dreamscape is created on stage, in which new images constantly flare up in corridors of light. The London choreographer dances deep into the subconscious and juxtaposes hypnotic images with hard rhythms pulsating beneath the surface. A band plays bossa nova, a sad love song wafts through the hall of mirrors of associations and the human generation marvels at itself in a springy, flowing dance. The theater of dreams becomes a dark world theater, but Shechter leaves the audience with the image of a euphorically undulating community dancing against all the suffering.
