Comedy Slam Berlin

Four of the country’s best slam poets will face off at Berlin’s Comedy Slam to have the audience in stitches with their funniest poems. Over two rounds, they’ll give your abs a real workout. A workout for your funny bone! And you’ll decide which poem is the funniest with your applause. By the end of the evening, you’ll be rolling on the floor laughing, and one of the comedy slammers will take home the audience-chosen prize.

What Makes a Comedy Slam

Just like in poetry slams, the focus here is on the text and the performance. The rules for the performers: an 8-minute time limit, no props, and only self-written material. And the audience decides who wins the night. But unlike usual, at Comedy Slam Berlin, there’s nothing but funny material: literature that makes you laugh.

What sets the Comedy Slam apart from a typical stand-up show found in Berlin’s comedy clubs? Here, it’s not just a string of jokes. Here, you’ll hear cohesive stories, narratives, poems, and a bit of a message. The full diversity of the poetry slam, in other words. With belly-laughs from comedians. Poetry slam meets stand-up.
