Comic Bar: Lina Ehrentraut mit "Doggy Style"

In the organizer's words:

Moderated by Domi Wendland:

"Fuck!" In DOGGY STYLE, loneliness is juxtaposed with sex, quirky dialog alongside the depressive mood of the main character. In jagged black and white lines and surfaces, Lina Ehrentraut tells an everyday story about dating and friendship, in which an unloved dog plays a fateful role. The protagonist of the story finds herself in a closely observed everyday situation that develops more and more into an absurd and disturbing fiction. The book painfully aptly describes a reality in which outdated role models still dominate despite the supposed looseness and taking on responsibility has become a horror scenario. The words and images here strike a tone that stylistically draws on the nonchalance and roughness that creep into the concepts of modern relationships.

Lina Ehrentraut's work combines comics, fashion, performative readings, illustration and painting. Sci-fi elements repeatedly break into the narrative of social relationships. Lina is part of the SQUASH collective, which has been organizing the "snail eye - Cosmic Comic Convention" in Leipzig since 2021. In 2021, the comic "Melek+ich" (Edition Moderne) won the prize for best debut at the Erlangen International Comics Salon.

Domi Wendland, *1991, illustrates and draws comics. The debut graphic novel "Tüti" received the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize for Literature and the "Anti-Depri-Tagebuch" the promotion prize of the International Lake Constance Conference for Creative Artists. Wendland founded the art & zine workshop ArtZi in 2018 and has been teaching comics at the Technical University of Munich since 2020.
