"common.start" is a format for exchange, innovative approaches and interdisciplinary practice in the independent scene that is specifically aimed at up-and-coming artists. In a temporary art camp, these artists from different geographical and aesthetic contexts enter into a common working context in order to test experimental procedures and sharpen questions. The focus is on a process-oriented practice that aims to negotiate, shift and open up.
Over the course of four rehearsal days, interdisciplinary teams from Basel, Berlin and Hamburg will create small-scale works. Their presentation at the festival is not intended as a conclusion, but as a situational visualization of an ongoing process.
