Blonde hair originated around 11,000 years ago as a genetic mutation in northern Europe. Only two percent of people are naturally blonde. A relatively rare phenomenon - and therefore quickly desirable for some: blonde hair is associated with youth, attractiveness and purity, with blonde hair the most diverse statements are made: social advancement or rebellion and independence. At the same time, being blonde became a symbol of whiteness. In a mixed cast of "Non Blondes", Four Non Blondes explores the many nuances of blondness, incorporating the cultural history of blond hair and the personal experiences of the performers.
