What do a young entrepreneur, a homeless man, an unemployed mother with three small children, a social worker, an old welder and a young man from the barrio have in common? They all believe in art as a tool for social change - amidst the chaos and violence during the unrest in Colombia in 2021. The protests, originally sparked by a tax reform at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, quickly evolve into an all-out call for justice, equality and systemic change, but the state responds with excessive force. To put pressure on the government, people set up roadblocks across the country. Puerto Resistencia, named after its political activism and located in the impoverished eastern part of the city of Cali, becomes one of the country's most emblematic points of resistance. Political, social and cultural awareness flourishes here. The film focuses exclusively on the microcosm within the roadblock and shows how the community, driven by their dreams and hopes, builds a monument over ten meters high - the "Monument of Resistance" - out of nothing and celebrates itself.
