Longing is probably the oldest motif in CONNY's lyrics: whether it is a longing for distant lands and new adventures or the longing for a love that outlasts the moment of the first kiss - there is always a sadness in CONNY's voice that conveys the image of a thoughtful and sometimes lonely character to the listener. Since he went solo, his music has become much more serious. As an avowed feminist, CONNY's lyrics deal with gender roles, masculinity, criticism of capitalism and life in a system that is built on all these pillars. He speaks both as an outside observer and denounces, but often also deliberately chooses a very personal and private perspective and allows listeners to share in his feelings.
