COOGANS BLUFF
The COOGANS BLUFF space glider is going on tour again.
What once started with stoner rock has long since become an institution and spearhead in the retro universe, forcing the media more and more to make daring comparisons and music style legerdemain:
"Krautrock psychedelia" (Rolling Stone), "SpacenBluesrock" (Schall Magazin), an "interplanetary hidden object" (Visions) or yet "a colorful mixture of retro and hard rock, which is not at all short of being enriched with the elements of prog, kraut, psychedelic and brass rock" (Babyblaue Seite)?
In the end, the only thing that remains is to try to put the mix of styles and the joy of playing into words, which is hard to do with the long history of the band and seven albums. The band brings all this to the point with one word: "Balada", the album title - an expression from the Portuguese-Brazilian which is used for celebration, party or also dancing - stands for the joy of playing, the groove and unites everything in one word. Relaxed and skillful, sovereign and far away from the constraints of a musical genre, the quintet continues to tinker with its surreal sound labyrinths and opens new doors that were not visible to many before. Playful on the highest level, they keep their own head in their search for something new. There are definitely jazz and yacht rock influences to be heard, which like to develop into breakneck roller coaster rides. With each album COOGANS BLUFF shift the 70s influences more and more to the end of this musically so exciting epoch and so it fits that this time Joe Jackson is there with "One More Time" as a reference with a lot of groove and pop.
If the last tour with sold out clubs was cancelled because of Corona, now it starts again after three years. We are looking forward to sweaty concerts that can sometimes exceed two hours.
