Coogans Bluff

The COOGANS BLUFF space glider is back on the road.

What once began with stoner rock has long since become an institution and spearhead in the retro universe and is increasingly forcing the media to make daring comparisons and music style legos:

"Krautrock psychedelia" (Rolling Stone), "space'n'blues rock" (Schall Magazin), an "interplanetary hidden object picture" (Visions) or yet "a colorful mixture of retro and hard rock, enriched not too scarcely with the elements of prog, kraut, psychedelic and brass rock" (Babyblaue Seite)?

In the end, all that remains is to try and put the mix of styles and the joy of playing into words, which is difficult given the band's long history and seven albums.

The band sums it all up in one word: "Balada", the album title - a Portuguese-Brazilian expression used for celebration, party or dancing - stands for the joy of playing, the groove and unites everything in one word. Relaxed and skillful, confident and far removed from the constraints of a musical genre, the quintet continues to tinker with its surreal sound labyrinths and opens new doors that were previously invisible to many.

Playful at the highest level, they keep their own head in their search for something new. There are definitely jazz and yacht rock influences to be heard, which often develop into breakneck rollercoaster rides. With each album, COOGANS BLUFF's 70s influences shift more and more towards the end of this musically exciting era, so it's fitting that this time Joe Jackson's "One More Time" is included as a reference with plenty of groove and pop.

After the last tour with sold-out clubs was canceled due to Corona, the tour is now starting again after three years. We are looking forward to sweat-inducing concerts that can sometimes exceed two hours.
