To mark the 350th anniversary of the death of the great baroque writer Hans Jacob Christoffel von Grimmelshausen, the Corelli Ensemble will be performing in the Former Synagogue.

This period, although strongly influenced by the turmoil of the 30 Years' War, offers a wealth of musical works, many of which have not been printed and have only survived as manuscripts. In this concert, the Corelli Ensemble will perform works by well-known composers of the time, such as Joh. H. Rosenmüller (1619-1684) and Ph. H. Erlenbach (1657-1714), as well as works from the Ludwig score book from 1662 in Gotha. The ensemble performs on original instruments whose sound gives a particularly authentic impression of early Baroque music.
