Couch: breaking genre boundaries with soul, funk, pop and a modern DIY aesthetic - in 2026, Couch can be heard live in Europe with their debut album Big Talk and will of course also be coming to the Gretchen in Berlin.

The Boston band Couch fuses funk, pop, soul and indie elements to create a lively, genre-bending sound. Expressive horns, warm vocals and playful synthesizers characterize the sound, produced in a modern way but with handmade depth. Couch is considered one of the most innovative young live bands on the US music scene, inspiring both musicians and non-musicians alike.

Couch spent nearly three years writing and recording over FaceTime before ever stepping on stage. What began as a long-distance experiment between high school and college friends - writing songs from bedrooms across the country - eventually led to their self-titled debut EP and a string of singles, culminating in a 20-city headline tour in 2022.

Back in Boston, the band released their second EP, Sunshower, in 2023, followed by a two-part 40-city US headline tour, appearances on Boston Calling and Levitate, and a sold-out first UK tour.

Since then, they have toured with Lake Street Dive and Cory Wong (Vulfpeck) on his US and European tours and opened for St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Sammy Rae and Ripe.

Now Couch is preparing the release of their debut album Big Talk, paired with an international headline tour of 40 cities. With the first single "What Were You Thinking", Couch already give a foretaste of their current sound and sound even more mature without losing their creative lightness. They will be live at the Gretchen on March 16, 2026.
