This Saturday, we're staying relatively Christmassy. At least "The Addams Family" begins with a Christmas scene. After that, the theme is no longer so prominent, but of course no one would have thought that this family really celebrates Christmas, would they? At least we get a very homey feeling from this 1991 classic. We hope you feel the same way and we'll see you at the Creepy Crypt on December 13.

The brother of Gomez Addams (Raul Julia), a member of the shrill Addams Family, has been missing for years. Suddenly, the shady-looking Gordon Craven (Christopher Lloyd) appears in the mysterious mansion of the somewhat different family and claims to be the missing brother Fester. Of course, it is a little strange that he hardly knows anything about the Addams Family. His suspicious appearance calls his supposed niece Wednesday Addams (Christina Ricci), among others, onto the scene, but too many other things keep her from really raising the alarm. Craven's plan to relieve the Addams Family of a considerable sum of money threatens to work, were it not for the surprising similarities between him and his potential victims. Now the question arises as to whether there is something to his brazen claim after all.

It's rather odd, of course, that he knows almost nothing about the Addams Family. His suspicious behavior attracts the attention of, among others, his supposed niece, Wednesday Addams (Christina Ricci), but too many other things prevent her from actually raising the alarm. Craven's plan to swindle the Addams Family out of a considerable sum of money seems poised to succeed, were it not for the striking similarities between him and his potential victims. Now the question arises whether there might be some truth to his audacious claim after all.
