CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX

Since their formation in 2004 by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Justin Greaves, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX have created a monumental discography, serving as a voice for the voiceless, be it animals, inequality or otherness.

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX's mission is to shed light on the human condition and the injustices that befall humans and animals. A fight they continued with their end-time ballads on their last studio album, "Banefyre". Metal Hammer honored "Banefyre" as their "most coherent and emotionally devastating album". Given the high quality of all their previous releases, this is definitely a great compliment.

The dark heavy rock of Crippled Black Phoenix rides on the wings of mid-period Pink Floyd prog-rock, but draws from a rich pool of doom, post-rock, stoner, psychedelic and alternative rock. Their singer and lyricist Belinda Kordic now joins forces with Swedish singer Joel Segerstedt, who made his debut with CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX last year with the single "Painful Reminder/Dead is Dead". Pianist, synthesizer and trumpeter Helen Stanley and additional guitarist Andy Taylor complete the current line-up. But since their epic, cinematic sound can only be realized live with a large line-up, the band is also strengthening itself for this summer tour with additional musicians for their magnetizing live shows.
