by and with The Brothers
and Tokunbo, Dominik Büchele, Chiara Kilchling & Oli Meier
From 1969 onwards, in a small, beautiful side valley north of Los Angeles, a musical breeding ground grew on which the defining pop music in the USA was to flourish for years to come. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, Carole King, The Mamas & The Papas, even The Doors and Frank Zappa lived and worked in Laurel Canyon.
Half a century later, The Brothers and their Freiburg guests pay tribute to the music of this era and the artists who dominated it. The Brothers, the first ZMF prizewinners in 1992, have already delivered several "theme evenings" at the ZMF over the years, which have captivated audiences with their musical originality and intense arcs of suspense.
Alongside the Fab Four, West Coast rock, folk and Americana have been the main influences on The Brothers' own musical development. It is with great excitement and joy that they look forward to this unique evening in the company of friends and musical companions.
