CROWCAT TRIO - Jazz Manouche

The CROWCAT TRIO from Düsseldorf has stood for acoustic jazz manouche full of joy of playing, virtuosity and musical spontaneity since 2023. In the classic line-up, Flávio Nunes (guitar), Torben Grimm (guitar) and Andreas Berger (double bass) dedicate themselves to the style of jazz manouche, which was founded by guitarist Django Reinhardt in the 1930s.

Together they develop a transparent, acoustic band sound that thrives on the interplay between the guitars, rhythmic precision and improvisational freedom. Rhythm guitar, solo voices and double bass intertwine and provide the typical Manouche groove.

The CROWCAT TRIO does not see jazz manouche as a mere copy of a style, but as a living musical form: in addition to well-known pieces from the gypsy jazz repertoire, it also includes its own arrangements and interpretations from other musical worlds. The result is a varied, atmospheric sound between concert and salon music - sometimes virtuosic and rousing, sometimes calm and almost chamber music-like.

In recent years, the CROWCAT TRIO has played at numerous concerts and events in the region, including at city festivals, in clubs, cafés and on open-air stages, and has gained a steadily growing audience.

Direct and without technical effects, the music thrives on interaction, improvisation and direct contact with the audience. The CROWCAT TRIO creates a special atmosphere that invites the listener to listen, relax and sway along.
