CROWCAT TRIO im Kolumbarium
In the organizer's words:
CROWCAT TRIO – Jazz Manouche
Since 2023, the CROWCAT TRIO from Düsseldorf has been known for its acoustic Jazz Manouche, full of joy, virtuosity, and musical spontaneity. In their classic lineup, Flávio Nunes (guitar), Torben Grimm (guitar), and Andreas Berger (double bass) dedicate themselves to the style of Jazz Manouche, which was pioneered by guitarist Django Reinhardt in the 1930s.
Together, they create a transparent, acoustic band sound that thrives on the interplay of the guitars, rhythmic precision, and improvisational freedom. Rhythm guitar, solo parts, and double bass intertwine to produce the characteristic Manouche groove.
The CROWCAT TRIO does not view Jazz Manouche as a mere stylistic imitation, but as a living musical form: in addition to well-known pieces from the Gypsy jazz repertoire, their set also includes original arrangements and interpretations drawn from other musical worlds. The result is a varied, atmospheric sound that bridges the gap between concert music and salon music—at times virtuosic and rousing, at other times calm and almost chamber-like.
In recent years, the CROWCAT TRIO has performed at numerous concerts and events in the region, including city festivals, clubs, cafés, and open-air stages, and has steadily built a growing audience.
Performed directly and without technical effects, the music thrives on ensemble playing, improvisation, and direct contact with the audience. The CROWCAT TRIO creates a special atmosphere that invites listeners to listen, relax, and tap their feet along to the music.
