In the organizer's words:
A free, accessible event with no registration required.
We invite children from the neighborhood in particular—but also parents, friends, and anyone who’s curious—to spend a creative afternoon at Neustädter Markt. In case of bad weather, the activities will take place in the hall of the Pöge-Haus, directly across from Neustädter Markt.
Each week has a new theme—from upcycling and printing to sound experiments and small nature projects. Together, we’d like to explore and shape the space and ask ourselves: What grows here? What sounds here? What can we make from things that would otherwise be thrown away?
August 14: KUNSTKRAM – Jewelry and Beads
August 21: STADTGRÜN – Making paper with flowers
August 28: PRINTING with Buchkinder Leipzig e.V.
culture:insel aims to give children and teens the opportunity to creatively explore their neighborhood, create something together, and take ownership of public space to some extent.
Just stop by, join in, and give it a try!
The culture:insel project is made possible by funding from the “Culture Makes You Strong: Alliances for Education” grant program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It takes place as part of “Open Air Culture” in collaboration with alliance partners Buchkinder e.V. and OFT Tante Hedwig e.V.
