Cultus

In the organizer's words:
With his new work, Roberto Zappalà powerfully returns to dance in all its creative contradictions - with notes that are physical and delicate, musical yet atonal, erotic and explosive, but also poetic and intimate.

"Cultus" was born from the urge to juxtapose two languages: Music and Dance. In doing so, Zappalà emphasizes not only their proximity and points of contact, but above all their ruptures and differences. Musically inspired by Bach's "St. Matthew Passion" and David Lang's "The Little Match Girl Passion," Zappalà elevates pure abstract dance to the protagonist of his new work. In a choreographic journey, the dancers' bodies pass through different states of abandonment, tenderness, joy, ecstasy and poetry. The audience is invited to move in a fluid place where the loss of the sense of time becomes a unique sensory experience. This content has been machine translated.
