The Cyanide Pills are probably the greatest band in the world.... They have four albums, a 10'' live record and 10 singles to their name, the fourth record "Soundtrack to the new cold war" was released on August 4, 2023, of course again on Damaged Goods.
A new album is currently in the works.
Think The Boys, Buzzcocks, The Briefs, Ramones and you know where this is going. The white leather jacket is always there, as are their candy-colored sunglasses. These cool dudes play your favorite punk rock songs wrapped in bubble gum and cotton candy, with a very British brash 1977 punk attitude, deeply rooted in pub rock and glam, and push the songwriting to total perfection. They sing about
the same social ills in the world as they did back in the 1970s. And they have a lot of humor. Nothing is too serious for them.
Or maybe it is?
The Cyanide Pills formed after a couple of mates who were already in bands in the Leeds punk scene decided to pool their resources and form the band they always wanted to be in. That was in mid-2008.
Damaged Goods Records London immediately took the band under their wing and the debut single 'Break It Up' was released in early 2009. Their self-titled debut album saw the light of day in 2010. And the rest is history.
Since then, the Cyanide Pills have been touring Europe several times a year, releasing single and record after record, and each new song is so wonderfully perfectly written, it's hard not to love the band.
They call themselves a band of dysfunctional misfits who carry heavy baggage and are untrustworthy losers. But they make a great sound. That's what they're really good at!
