Is it Christmas yet? With Da Meier & Watschnbaam, the festive spirit comes alive.

Here it doesn't trickle quietly, but with a proper "O'ghängt is!" the humorous tap is rammed into the mulled wine barrel. The Lower Bavarian-Upper Palatinate cabaret quartet led by Thomas "Dammerl" Hantke goes from the company Christmas party to a visit to the Christmas market and the job fair of the Four Wise Men (that's right, the start-up from Bethlehem is looking for employees), Florian "Flore" Kuchler, Seppe "Wingei" Geiger and Matthias "Da Meier" Meier, formerly known as the showmaker of the cult trio "Da Huawa, da Meier und I", go on a funny musical sleigh ride and sweeten the pre-Christmas season.

With these four thoroughbred artists, even the LED fairy lights run hot, because from the recorder to the Quetschn, there is more on offer than just instrumentally. Christmas classics such as "Last Christmas" are taken for a ride, as are the usual suspects: A Krampus with burnout, an overqualified reindeer and a money-grabbing Coke Nicolo. But isn't it about more than presents and goose with dumplings? About shining children's eyes, contemplative music under the Christmas tree and a whole lot of Amore? The "Bishop" alias Matthias Meier reminds us of this in his Christmas sermon with liturgical singing. And so contemplation returns to the powdered-sugar Bavarian countryside. The festive season can come.

Da Meier & Watschnbaam's Christmas program is like a ride on Rudolph's sleigh: fast-paced, entertaining and a lot funnier than Grandma Erna's annual sock present.

The viewer goes home with a good feeling and the realization: at least we haven't had a scuffle yet. Well then, Merry Christmas!
