The world-famous 81-year-old Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama is still active as an artist despite his advanced age. He photographs virtually everything. He seems to be on the move like a rushed man, his camera always at the ready. He lacks the time to focus, the insight into the necessity of composition. He pulls the trigger - doesn't take pictures, but shoots with the camera like a revolver. In the countryside and in cities, on the street and in gardens, in bars and bedrooms - everywhere...

The charismatic Daido was accompanied by director Gen Iwama for over a year for this approachable portrait. He and the people around him try to track down Moriyama's creativity and capture his creative process. At the end of this search, a photo book was created that takes up the artist's life motto: The past is always new, the future is always nostalgic.
