In DANCE YOUR SKIN COLLECTIVE, ageing female bodies move out of the images they are forced into. Dancing, swimming or head over heels. They topple out of the categories, tremble in their poses, process in solidary choreography along the transitions of ageing. Who and what is allowed to show themselves? What else disappears? The dance performance celebrates the community of different generations and the unique aesthetic potential of ageing bodies. Between standstill and movement, a threatening matter-of-factness flickers out from beneath the surfaces of the skins, repeatedly escaping the images and taboos we have of ageing.

DANCE YOUR SKIN COLLECTIVE builds on Lisa Thomas' solo DANCE YOUR SKIN, in which she focused on the views of her aged dancer's body. The audience moves freely through the space with the seven performers, who range in age from almost 30 to almost 80.
