DANCING IMPOSSIBLE BODIES

Workshop by and with Dewey Dell

"We want to hit the word 'dance' with a hammer until it becomes a broad, thin foil capable of incorporating gesture and movement in a general way. We want to overflow the word 'dance' until it reaches unimaginable places."

Dewey Dell offer a two-day workshop for people who are interested in dance as a malleable matter without classification and who want to start or deepen their own choreographic research in this field. Through the relationships between gesture, movement and other forms and practices such as sound, word and drawing, possible approaches to individual research will be explored. The workshop explores the power of the visual and investigates when a movement begins to vibrate with a greater "meaning" alongside a different element.

Dewey Dell are an Italian dance and performance collective. They will be performing their current production "Le Sacre du Printemps" at the Schaubühne Lindenfels on April 26 + 27. The production with original music by Igor Stravinsky was awarded the Danza&Danza Prize for the best Italian dance production in 2023.
