Ricky, Vicky, Katharina and Malou live in a shared youth welfare project. The four friends have built themselves a little anarchic utopia - a counter-design to everything they reject: Parents, school, rules. With their unmotivated social worker Ballack as a half-hearted guardian, things are actually going quite well. Until their "live and let live" agreement is shaken by Katharina's plan to take her own life before her 18th birthday. DANKE FÜR NICHTS is a wonderfully quirky coming of age film about four teenagers who refuse to grow into a world that has long since written them off.
