In "Dark Room - A Polar Concert in the Dark", your imagination transforms the newly reopened concert hall into the Antarctic and brings a thrilling expedition in 1911 to life in your imagination. Blindfolded, the audience is immersed in the icy world of polar explorers Robert Falcon Scott and Roald Amundsen, who were engaged in a fierce race to the South Pole. Anyone who has never seen the Konzerthaus before can rediscover it in a unique way with this extraordinary format. In this unique performance, live music, radio play and fantasy experience merge into an intense sensory journey. The well-known dubbing actors Timmo Niesner (Frodo in Lord of the Rings) and Martin Kautz (Jon Bernthal) lend their voices to Scott and Amundsen. The orchestra in the stairwell sets the scene musically: In addition to the compositions by Philip Glass and the sisters Nadia and Lili Boulanger, all the sounds are also "played" live, and not just the merciless polar ice. Star saxophonist Asya Fateyeva enriches these soundscapes with her virtuoso presence. For 90 minutes, the audience will experience excitement, poetry and goosebumps as the Konzerthaus is transformed into the South Pole and the stage is conquered. An original, captivating and deeply moving live experience for all the senses.
