Halim and Mina are happily married and run a traditional tailor's shop in the medina of Salé. In order to meet the demands of their discerning clientele, they hire a talented young man named Youssef as an apprentice. Over time, however, Mina realizes how much Youssef's presence affects her husband. As in ADAM (one of our absolute favorite films), Moroccan director Maryam Touzani tells of feelings and longings that are not allowed to be expressed and at the same time break through with impressive craftsmanship. The dedication and love with which Halim, Youssef and Mina take on the beautiful fabrics in their bright colors and impressive details goes straight to the heart. Just like the story itself, which tells of much more than initially meets the eye.
