Iran, June 1981: Two years after the Islamic Revolution, the young Peyman Bamshad is arrested due to a case of mistaken identity. He spends his youth in various detention centers. In order to escape the horror of torture and executions, the young people there develop their own language and a bitter sense of humor. After his release, Peyman retreats to the cellar of his parents' house. In his forties, he decides to free himself from the burden of what he has experienced and to track down a self that has had little opportunity to develop. In his search for himself, he leads us through the absurdity of the post-revolutionary years in Iran.
