Between sequins and protest, between dance floor and theater, Das Günther from Hanover delivers a stage show that questions everything - including itself. With drums, bass and synthetic sounds, they crash clubs, festivals and off-spaces, dismantle the feel-good facades of the late capitalist party and dissect patriarchal thought patterns. Vocal organ Alex slips into roles that hold up a mirror to the madness of our present. Improvised, impulsive and always one joke away from madness, the trio ignite an anarchic spectacle that oscillates somewhere between Kraftwerk and carnival, between clown and diva, in a techno cellar.

Günther's mother describes her child as follows: "Party! Party! Depressed! Depri!" For some, Günther needs therapy, for others Günther is therapy. Like a shabby clown, Günther leads not only the audience but also himself around by the nose. Günther doesn't write songs, he invents them on stage. What counts is the energy and the message: change is necessary and diversity is a fact! Günther is punk, clown and mom all in one. Fans often describe the band from Hanover as follows: "You have to see Günther live, otherwise you won't understand."

After minutes of singing along to fragments of lyrics such as "I want to be the last angry voice, no more violence"; "Anarchy for nature"; or "Alone on XTC is funny, sometimes" and dancing their bodies empty, one or two lines of text still find their personal meaning on the pillow or in the dreams of the concertgoers. Vocalist Alex Rosengarth, drummer Albrecht Bibas and bassist Till Schomburg are now in their ninth year as a band. After the first physical vinyl release "Strawberry Gelato" in 2024, the group is currently working on a new album. An EP is due to be released in spring 2027. The first UK tour is also planned for fall 2026.
