Das Kapital - Closing Party

The café at the Gallery of Contemporary Art is constantly being redesigned by artists. The GfZK's current café: DAS KAPITAL was conceived by Leipzig designer Markus Dreßen. The first volume of Karl Marx's magnum opus "Das Kapital. Critique of Political Economy" was printed in Leipzig in 1867. Based on the idea of a public living room, it deals with questions of hospitality in times of the economization of the social sphere. To what extent are we prepared to share wealth, knowledge and living space with other people? Who would we even want to be with?

In 2024, the café will be renovated in January and February. It will be redesigned and given a new name in the process. The opening is planned for March 1, 2024.
