Play by Fayer Koch
The climate (no pressure) is set in the near future. Northern Germany is completely flooded, the Baltic Sea has reached the gates of Würzburg. The maximum water level marks now stretch all the way up the town hall tower. The last iceberg in the world was pulled into the seaport of Würzburg and is now being exhibited there as a greenwashing mega-event. Stands have been set up, vendors are selling souvenirs and the iceberg is illuminated with sponsor logos. A huge curtain is installed. The main sponsor is to give a speech and then the curtain will be lifted - at least that's the plan. But while the main sponsor's speech is delayed further and further, the iceberg continues to melt away behind the curtain ...
The climate (no pressure) deals with the climate crisis and communication in times of political hopelessness. Various characters revolve around the iceberg - and around the question of what their own contribution to a better world could look like. They all see themselves on the right side, but increasingly lose themselves in the discourse. Fayer Koch is writing this new play as part of the Leonhard Frank Scholarship, which will be premiered on the rehearsal stage at the end of the season.
