Manfred (Mads Mikkelsen) is middle-aged. He has a strange hairstyle and wears strange glasses. He's not exactly the quickest in the head either. When his brother Anker (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) comes home after 15 years in prison, he learns that Manfred no longer wants to be called "Manfred", but only goes by "John". He thinks he is John Lennon. And whenever someone says the wrong name, he freaks out. Anker is forced to adapt to his brother's new quirk because he needs him: Anker once robbed a bank with Flemming (Nicolas Bro) and, before being arrested, handed over his share to Manfred, who was supposed to bury the money. But now that Manfred is John, he can no longer remember where he hid the money. Both brothers visit their former home, but the new owners offer it as a vacation home. To make matters worse, they are followed by Manfred's psychiatrist (Lars Brygmann), who feels inspired by "John" to revive the Beatles. In Hamdan (Kardo Razzazi), he has already found someone who thinks he is both Paul and Ringo (or was it George?). Danish director Anders Thomas Jensen presents a film packed with bizarre scenes and macabre, even violent humor. Sometimes the viewer's laughter gets stuck in their throat. Above all, however, Jensen manages to ensure that eccentric, neurotic behavior becomes the norm for the audience as the film progresses. A satirical chaos of sibling drama, treasure hunt and horror film - with built-in barbs.
