Sylvia and Beau are having an affair. Once a year they meet at Beau's cottage to pursue their infidelity, but Sylvia has had enough. In a telegram to her husband and Beau's wife, she reveals their long-kept secret.

Sandy Rustin's farce Das Landhaus (The Cottage), written in German by Daniel Call, shows the consequences of Sylvia's revelation full of twists and turns, fast-paced verbal battles, drama and, above all, plenty of humor that leaves no eye dry. And all set in the eponymous country house in 1920s England.

With sharp wit, charming characters and a good dose of British humor, The Country House follows in the tradition of great comedies from Oscar Wilde to Noël Coward. Behind every door lurks a new surprise, behind every conversation another secret and with every minute the carefully constructed house of cards of the characters begins to totter. A turbulent comedy about love, lies and the art of avoiding the truth for as long as possible.
