Psychiatrist Emma Stein has barricaded herself in her house. After nearly falling victim to a serial killer—whom the press refers to only as “the Barber”—in a hotel room, she lives in constant fear and believes she recognizes the perpetrator everywhere. 

Her home has become her fortress—until the day the mail carrier asks her to accept a package for a neighbor. The name on the package is unfamiliar to Emma: “A. Palandt.” Although she has lived on this street for years, she has never heard that name before. By accepting the package, Emma embarks on a horrific nightmare in which the lines between delusion and reality become increasingly blurred. 

Who is the mysterious neighbor really? And what sinister contents are hidden inside the package? Emma must ask herself whether the danger comes from outside—or whether her own mind is luring her into a deadly trap...
