Das Tier im Dschungel

The last night. The last party. In four hours, it’ll all be over. By then, everything has to change!

John and May are waiting. For hundreds of years, they’ve been waiting for a “life-changing event” to pounce on them like an “animal in the jungle.” They don’t know whether it will be a catastrophe or salvation. After centuries of waiting, the two have ended up at the Neues Schauspiel Leipzig, where the city’s last party is taking place tonight. Because: The building has been sold, and eviction is imminent. Amid the dancers, the ghosts haunt the dry-ice fog. Both are united by the urgent longing that the present cannot remain as it is. 

““The Animal in the Jungle” is an immersive site-specific performance in which the Leipzig theater collectiveSämtliche Gewerke, together with the DJ collectivesSachsentrance andfem*vak, is hosting one final theatrical rave throughout the entire Neuen Schauspiel building.
