Most Germans who were in favor of the Nazi regime never spoke about this time again after 1945. The subject was taboo in almost all families. The perspective of those involved at the time is still largely invisible today, both in family and public remembrance. The film interviews people who were teenagers and young adults during the Third Reich to find out exactly what these people thought and felt at the time - and how they assess their participation or involvement in the Nazi regime today.
The interviewees' statements are painfully honest, sometimes disturbing and characterized by moral ambivalence and repressed feelings of guilt, trauma and grief. In contrast, Jewish survivors have their say and shed light on blind spots that have been and continue to be left out of many a narrative.
With online director's discussion on 29.1.

The perspective of those involved at the time remains largely invisible to this day. The film interviews people who were teenagers and young adults during the Third Reich to discover exactly what these individuals thought and felt back then - and how they assess their participation or involvement in the Nazi regime today.
