The choral musical "Bethlehem" begins in present-day Bethlehem, a place that is sacred to Jews, Muslims and Christians. A place threatened by hatred and violence. Through the well of the past, the audience is immersed in the Christmas story together with the choir and soloists: a young family on the run experiences aversion and exclusion in a foreign country. A power-hungry ruler secures his position through violence. But their faith and the power of love give the family hope and courage to stand up for peace.
