The title and methodology of the group exhibition The Word for Museum is Forest is inspired by feminist science fiction literature. The curatorial approach understands the genre as a strategy for imagining other worlds. The project draws in particular from the novels of US writer Ursula K. Le Guin (1929-2018) and the themes that run through her entire oeuvre. The focus is therefore on artistic practices and gestures that reject the extraction and exploitation of natural resources and opt for a meaningful coexistence of all beings.
