Daura Hernández Garcia: Wie entsteht Kunst?

How do artistic ideas actually come about? And what do memories, conversations, gestures or ordinary everyday situations have to do with it?

For the sixth edition of Conversations with Artists, we welcome Canarian artist, dancer and actress Daura Hernández Garcia, who lives and works in Stuttgart. In an open conversation, she provides insights into her creative processes and explains how observations, personal experiences and encounters can become starting points for artistic creation.

Just a few days before the premiere of her current project "Mourning Butterflies", Daura talks about how ideas come about, how she works with body, voice and narrative forms and why creativity often begins exactly where we least expect it.

Conversations with Artists by The Art Open Source e.V. is not a classic lecture series. The focus is on encounters, exchange and the opportunity to get to know artists personally. In addition to the conversation, there will also be a short moment together with the audience, which opens up space for spontaneous interaction and new perspectives.

In particular, the series of events makes the diverse voices of migrant artists in Stuttgart visible and invites people to experience art not just as a finished result, but as a living process.
