David Novros (*1941 in Los Angeles, California) is known for his large, intensely colored paintings on irregularly shaped, multi-part canvases, as well as for his site-specific works that transcend the actual pictorial space and incorporate the architectural context of the surroundings. The Hamburger Kunsthalle is planning the most comprehensive retrospective of his work to date for fall 2026, which it will present on two levels of the Galerie der Gegenwart in a large exhibition of 40 large-format, sometimes monumental paintings, copper reliefs and works on paper.
