Arnold feels alienated. The mouse is in crisis, his world has recently begun to look like an artificial theater set. While his partner María struggles as the sole breadwinner, the poor man wanders confused through an increasingly dark fairytale land of ZOOTOPIA, THE MATRIX and THE TRUMAN SHOW. Everything seems to be controlled by the all-powerful company A.L.M.A., in whose grid you either work or disappear. When his closest friends are at the receiving end, Arnold finally plucks up the courage to find out what his paranoia is all about.

DECORADO creates a wonderfully weird, fantastical world in which fairies don't grant wishes, but instead conjure up full-blown depression, and birds warble cell phone tones instead of singing. Director Alberto Vázquez stages his animated film for adults as a wild themed rollercoaster that poses big questions without losing its playful lightness. He celebrates his artificial backdrops and yet mercilessly reveals what lurks behind them.
