Her sensual singing, interwoven with sound motifs from Turkic-speaking cultures, creates mystical ethno-pop in the Tatar language.
Defne delicately combines ethnic roots with contemporary sound and gives the audience a modern approach to the beauty of the Tatar language.
Her music stands as a symbol of female strength: self-determined, calm and deeply rooted.
She does not rise up in battle, she is simply there.
Behind the Defne project is the singer-songwriter Fauzia Kadyrova, also known under the pseudonym Fauzia.
She quickly made a name for herself in the music scene and was included in Afisha Daily's list of the 31 most important newcomers of 2024 and VK Music's 100 most promising artists of 2024. Numerous performances - also as a headliner - show the strong resonance of her music with the audience.
The Defne project is an artistic exploration of the combination of traditional Tatar motifs and contemporary aesthetics. With the multi-genre album "Yelan" (snake), she presented Tatar culture in a modern, multi-layered form. The single "Qyz" (Girl) developed into a musical calling card in Turkic-speaking countries.
