Insight into the archive of the harbor doctor + short tour of selected HIDDEN SHEROES

Historian Eva Zimmermann is currently working on the archive of the Hafenarzt Bremerhaven with a focus on women's healthcare. In a short lecture, she will give an insight into her work. Swantje Schäfer will then take visitors on a tour of two of the HIDDEN SHEROES that have been installed in Bremerhaven's city center since May, who played a decisive role in the city's healthcare system - and whose stories, like those of so many women, are hardly noticed today.

About the HIDDEN SHEROES Bremerhaven project
With her HIDDEN SHEROES project, artist Ellinor Amini deliberately focuses on women and female realities in order to give their underrepresented stories and faces more visibility. For the implementation in Bremerhaven, the Cultural Office, together with the Historical Museum, has commissioned the artist to design 10 women who have experienced, influenced, shaped and enriched Bremerhaven on post and electricity distribution boxes in Bremerhaven's city center. Together, we want to create a temporary monument to these inspiring women - representing numerous women and countless stories from Bremerhaven and around the world.

The HIDDEN SHEROES have been on display in the city center since the beginning of May and can be walked through on a tour.
