Demokratie im Burnout?
In the organizer's words:
Between Exhaustion and Renewal: Reflections on the State of Our Democracy
Our democracy is under pressure. Trust in established institutions such as political parties, labor unions, churches, associations, and even civil society organizations has been dwindling for years. At the same time, political forces that fundamentally question this democratic framework are gaining support.
But why is this happening? Is democracy itself exhausted, or do people feel overwhelmed by political conflicts, polarization, and social change? Have traditional institutions lost their appeal because they can no longer provide convincing answers? Or do we perceive the loss of trust as more severe than it actually is?
Together with our panelists, we would like to explore the state of our democracy—whether it needs to change in order to regain trust, or whether a stronger return to its foundational principles is required.
