Since the worldwide Black Lives Matter protests in the summer of 2020, racist and discriminatory structures in the police force have been increasingly discussed. In 2021, a study was commissioned to investigate risk factors for discrimination in police operations in Lower Saxony.

In 2021, we spoke to Astrid Jacobsen, Boris Pistorius, Mohamed Amjahid and Canan Topcu about everyday racism, police violence and the background to the study. At the time, we left with the promise that we would come together again to continue the exchange based on the results of the study. The study has now been completed and we would like to talk about what we can learn from the results.
