Room in Paris
An evening for Marlene D.
Berlin brat. Blue Angel. Soldier. Prussian housewife. Vamp.
Many images were created by Marlene Dietrich in the course of her more than 50-year stage career - mostly by her own doing - and discarded just as quickly. Reinventing herself again and again, long before Cher and Madonna came on the scene. A woman who was always very close to world events and the big names of her time, whether in art, politics or culture.
But who was this artist, considered by many to be the prototype of the modern woman of the 20th century, whose great life ended in solitude in a few rooms in Paris?
The trio consisting of Dennis Wenzel (voc), Thomas Höhl (p) and Till Spohr (b) shed light on the highs and lows of a long artistic life through the songs of "der Dietrich" and peppered with the odd anecdote or two. Contradictions are not excluded.
