Eleven-year-old Ferdinand Reimann knocks out a tooth from Bruno Schöller, who is the same age. The parents then meet at the Schöllers' home to settle the matter amicably. The two couples could not be more different: Mr. Reimann is a lawyer and, during the meeting, tries to avert a scandal from a pharmaceutical company he is providing legal advice to. That's why he has to talk on his cell phone all the time. His wife Anette is a financial advisor and more of a mother than she would like to be. Veronika Schöller presents herself as an accomplished housewife with a penchant for baking and works part-time in an art bookshop and as a writer. Her husband Michael runs a wholesale business in the household/sanitary sector and has a choleric disposition. This constellation of different personalities creates a field of tension that quickly exposes the "art of civilized interaction" as a farce. The meeting gets out of hand in a dynamic and entertaining way...
