What do adults do when two children argue? They bash each other's heads in, of course. In Yasmina Reza's bitter comedy hit, the married couple Reiler and Köhler meet to mediate the conflict between their eleven-year-old sons. They want to discuss the next steps in a pedagogically valuable way - after all, something like this can be sorted out quickly. But then the question arises as to why one boy hit the other in the face. Perhaps because of the parents' obvious marital problems? Hardly, the other one provoked him! Suddenly the parties to the dispute find themselves on a battlefield where there no longer seem to be any rules. They fight with words and in the end neither expensive pieces of furniture nor marriages remain intact.

In Reza's sharp-tongued comedy "The God of Carnage", two pairs of parents meet to settle a harmless dispute between their children - but what begins as a polite conversation soon develops into an exchange of blows full of irony, abysses and surprising truths. With plenty of black humor and spot-on dialogue, the production exposes the facade of civilized coexistence.
