Der Himmel brennt

In the organizer's words:

Program

"No matter how devastating any single event might be, you can still recover and begin again."
Kelly-Marie Murphy

Our program brings together three works that reflect life in all its facets. They open up perspectives on what lies between the end and the new beginning - perspectives on longing and hope.

The program opens with Mozart's Fragment in D minor - an unfinished work that remains in limbo, full of questions.
Kelly-Marie Murphy's "Give Me Phoenix Wings to Fly" then unfolds with tremendous energy. A phoenix rises from rhythmic power and glowing tension - a symbol of rebirth. Hope is not whispered softly here, but resounds with full force.
The concert concludes with Franz Schubert's Trio in E flat major, a work that oscillates between longing and departure. Composed at the same time as Winterreise, it evokes both the heaviness of farewell and the warmth of return. Robert Schumann saw in it "a wrathful heavenly apparition" - and perhaps also a glow behind the clouds.

We humans seek structures that provide stability. And yet every new year is a silent call to start anew. Not to strive for perfection, but to move on - stronger, more experienced, more alive.

"The success is in the attempt and the belief that it is possible to move forward."
Kelly-Marie Murphy
